Working in Germany

Social Insurance

Employees in Germany are generally covered by social insurance. This includes health, pension, long-term care and unemployment insurance. Social insurance provides protection in case of illness, old age, care needs or unemployment.

Employment Contracts

Employment is based on an employment contract. This regulates in particular the job description, working hours, remuneration, leave, notice periods and other framework conditions.

Termination, Leave, Working Hours

Labour law contains regulations on working hours, rest periods, leave entitlement and termination. These rules serve to protect employees.

Co-Determination

In many companies there are opportunities for co-determination, e.g. through works councils. Co-determination strengthens transparency and fair treatment in the employment relationship.

Binding Clauses

In the context of fair recruitment, impermissible binding or repayment clauses are excluded. Contractual clauses must be transparent, legally permissible and proportionate.
